With the holidays coming up this is the best time to get the ball rolling and after hearing from so many of you I realized that there are far fewer teacher bloggers on donorschoose.org than I thought!! Election & Veteran's Day!

Last week was so FUN with Election Day on Tuesday and learning about Veteran's Day on Friday!
I'm usually never excited to teach about holidays that are "Social Studies" related... Yes, you know how some teachers HATE teaching math??? Well, that's how I feel with Social Studies! It's just not my strong suit!
I was soooo excited to use the following units:

This pack was great! It had a bunch of graphic organizers, class posters, and a student book! It was a BREEZE teaching my kiddos about Election Day... Thanks to Gladys!!  Here are some pics of the "action"

For Veteran's Day I used this pack from Kelley from Teacher Idea Factory!

There are some great posters in this pack!!! Again, super easy to talk about Veteran's Day with my kiddos!

To finish off our Friday and our new knowledge of Veteran's Day we wrote thank you notes to Veterans and made a super cute craft from Hadar {Miss Kindergarten}

This is the kiddos favorite craft soooo far! They LOVED it!! :)

The last one was made by one of my kiddos that struggles and he was sooo happy to make his soldier! He ROCKED it! :)

Other bloggers and Teachers Pay Teachers has changed my teaching for the better! If I ever have a doubt on HOW to teach something... I have everything I need at my fingertips! It is amazing!

This week we will be finishing up lesson 8 from StoryTown... the digraph TH!

Then on Friday we will start our Thanksgiving STUFF!! I am sooo excited! I will share soon what I will be using!

I also want to say THANK YOU to our nation's Veterans for serving our country and protecting our freedom {as one of my kiddos said!}

I feel like I've worked on this baby for the longest time!

I just printed them out today... heading to the laminator tomorrow!

They are perfect for my ELLs so that they can review their parts of speech {grammar}.

This girl is amazingly talented! She makes the CUTEST clip art around!

She has these amazing Visual Direction Cards that I've purchased, printed, and laminated! I just need to stick magnets on the back and they will be good to go {*to do list*}! Again, perfect for my ELLs!

Currently {November}

I skipped September and October... yeap, that's how bUsY and cRaZy I was but I'm back in the game!

Yes, I am in my classroom on a Saturday for a training! I've been coming and working in my classroom on Saturdays since the beginning of the school year but it just FEELS different when we are SUPPOSED to be here! YIKES! I hope it goes by fast!

I stopped by Jamba Juice this morning and grabbed a smoothie and some oatmeal!

YUM! Try their oatmeal {if you haven't already!}

Sitting in my classroom and staring at the super old *blueberries* {old iMacs} gets me depressed! They hardly work and I'm just thinking about what my kiddos could do on iPads and laptops!

Soooo, I am wanting more technology! 

I have 2 iPod touches that we got donated through Donor's Choose {YAY!} and we use them everyday!

I am needing a home cooked meal since I haven't cooked all WEEK!

MUSIC... I haven't been very good about putting on music in my class this year! WHOOPS! But when I do, I love putting on Classical, Disney, and sometimes fun stuff {the girls- me included LOVE Justin B.}.

I also like to play the Cha Cha Slide and the Tooty-Tah as a reward at the end of the day! Again, I haven't done that in FoReVeR but they like it!

Okay, I am off to this ST Math training! Does anybody use it? Familiar with it?
